The Russian government has approved a roadmap for the development of hydrogen energy and the decarbonization of industry and transport

As part of the Agreement of Intent between the Government of the Russian Federation and PJSC Gazprom for the development of hydrogen energy and decarbonization of industry and transport based on natural gas, a Roadmap was developed and agreed upon. On December 1, 2021, Roadmap was approved by Alexander Novak, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.
The Road Map provides for the development of competitive domestic technologies for «low-carbon» hydrogen production from natural gas, hydrogen storage, transportation and application, selection of optimal projects for scaling technologies and ensuring the launch of the first pilot projects of hydrogen energy based on natural gas.
PJSC Gazprom is defined as responsible company for realization of Roadmap.
An integrated project office was established on the basis of Gazprom hydrogen LLC to plan and control the portfolio of pilot projects.
